Where did the Maya Doomsday myth and misunderstanding come from?
They were using a calender which keeps track of time and has the same functions as any other calender. They Mayans would celebrate the end of cycles just like the new years. Who, and why did they decided this to be used as a tool for "End of Times" prophecies? Where did it all come from? There really are some brain-dead people out there that have given their lives up over a major hoax.

It comes from the US just to scare people and trick them to pay the government to hide in shelters. The Mayans never predicted the end of the world but this day was supposed to be to them was like 31st December is to us , like you mentioned . Also if they were good at predicting things there would've still be Mayans in the world
