Why do people post personal prayers on Facebook?
I'm not trying to knock anyone for what they do.
But I'm having trouble understanding why some people post personal prayers on Facebook. Is this a new way of connecting to God. I know social media is a network but do God really answer prayers via facebook? I see it just the same as praying to God but kneeling to a golden calf first. I see if they post words of encouragements, post a few scriptures of hope, and letting people know they are praying for them, but to quote your actual personal prayer. Do they pray to God in secret first and then post it on facebook? Also I don't understand why a lot of them cry out to God on facebook? Is it really sincere and truthful or a public exhibition? Because they are low-info religious kooks who don't know any better.

My best bet is that they want to show everyone how religious they are. There is no other reason.

Most of them think their prayers have some sort of magical power
They treat God like a cosmic vending machine They clutch their crucifix like a ju ju doll and cast a spell and all their problems go away.... So they think. |

My grandma only posts quotes from the bible, and pictures of her photoshopped with Jesus. It's hilarious and I want to create a website for it. That and delete her.

It's a public exhibition. It's the kind where Jesus said the Pharisees stood in the center of town and prayed to be seen of men. There's no difference. Some people think that if they post their prayers, they will be seen as pious and virtuous. Instead, they are what Jesus despised.
