Since it's usually an elective procedure, it won''t be covered just as it isn't now.

As far as I know it will be covered, since the minimum amount doctors want a patient to be overweight by is 100 lbs which makes them morbidly obese, and not just overweight, and there are other evaluations the candidates must go through, its not as some think, a quick and easy way to lose weight.

If so, his friend Oprah would be the first patient..and then Michelle..but I vote for cutting off his Mad Max ears--or pinning them back so he doesn't look like an elephant anymore.

DebbieP is sadly mistaken. It IS currently covered by medicaid and medicare. I believe it will be, but from my understanding major changes won't be implemented untill 2014.
