What are the steps in creating a website?
I want to start an online "business" but I don't know where to start.
Actually, it's not an actual business as nothing will be sold. If anything it will function the way YouTube and Facebook do (via ads). So what are the steps to creating a website? The website itself will focus on the production of graphic/digital art. Thanks all! Ads |

I'd start looking into "CMS" systems (content management systems). It allows you to separate the content from the design part of the website.
Then, most CMS systems come with a preset of website templates, and most of them have websites full of templates, so you are bound to find one you like. Some of them are free, ans some of them set you back a few dollars. The good thing about this, that you do not need to know a lot about coding. And from reading your question, I assume you don't. Designing your own website and handling updates is a big task and needs a lot of know how and practice. So stick to CMS and Template and you should be fine. You could start with Joomla which seems to be a popular one. See the link below: |

If you don't want to build it yourself from the very beginning and don't have any technical skills, you should use an online website builder like Moogo (http://www.moogo.com). You don't need any previous experience when making a website and it will be up and running in matter of minutes.
How to get started: 1) Go to http://www.moogo.com 2) Choose one of the packages (the differences are in the features, so check which features you need) 3) Click Start and go through the opening wizard, it should take around 1-2 minutes 4) Your website is opened, now you can change t he layout, design and start entering content It's very easy to do, but if you want some more advances stuff, it's possible also, as you can edit HTML and CSS. Cheers! |

Here are three easy steps in creating a website:
1. Get a domain name. This is going to be the address of your website. Keep it short and simple. 2. Choose a web host. This is the one that stores your website into their servers and responsible of transmitting it to the internet. 3. Design your website. This is the part where you actually create your website. This is where construction will take place, from design to functionality. |
