Conservatives: many of you have spoken in favor of privatizing social security, I'm just wondering how many of?
you know what an "HFT algorithm" is? Also, are you aware of the theory that in the event of Social Security being privatized it would be quite easy for unscrupulous HFT programmers to develop trading schema that would ensure that every Social Security dollar put into the stock market would end up almost instantly in the pockets of Wall Street firms?

I think MOST conservatives in favor of privatizing social security are aware of that. That's the whole point.

I'm a conservative who would never suggest such a thing. I do believe in people having responsibility for their own well-being, but I also realize that many, through no fault of their own, cannot. While I strenuously object to the unionized, public service gold-plated pensions, I believe that there should be some sort of universal safety net.

Yeah that's so different than all of that money getting used for politician pet projects....At least I can sue the private company for Effing with my funds.
