Why does facebook need to be able to record using our microphones and taking pictures with our camera without?
This is on facebook mobile. I know it's available for version 2.0 and higher. What does facebook need to do this for? What is the reasoning?

Facebook is owned by the government. They are trying to collect as much information as possible.

I assume you're talking about the Android app. Facebook developed a system for Android called Facebook Home. Basically, they want to be in charge of your phone- instead of using Google's system to launch apps and set up widgets, you'd use Facebook's. The full experience is only available on a couple phones, but a few parts of it leaked into their existing apps.
