Instagram login fail?

I deleted my instagram APP a couple years ago. I downloaded it again and tried to create a new password for my old account. However, when I try to enter my email, it says that the user is not active. Then, I give up and attempt to make a new account but it says that the same email I used, already belonged to an account. Now, I can't have an Instagram account unless I make a new email entirely! Any help please?

It sounds to me like the fault lies with instagram. Perhaps you should be asking them how to make it work.
