Did i get a virus from Facebook?
Just yesterday I realized that I got a virus, it was a fake anti-virus crap asking me to buy it for like sixty dollars or something. So my brothers downloaded Malwarebytes-Anti Malware, and got rid of the virus. So now they're telling me to not get on facebook ever again because that's what got me this virus. They said it's because facebook has a lot of ads and links that can give you viruses, but i never ever click on any of those things. I just go to Quizazz, and I never click any ads or suspicious links. So is Facebook the reason why I got this virus?
Oh and also, do you think it's Quizazz that got me this virus? Or just Facebook itself? Ads |

Facebook has a lot of viruses and stupid stuff.
Just use it for it's purpose, posting stuff and going on your friends pages. The quizz thing probably did do something bad. Ads |

you don't have to click on ads to get a virus, its not certain if facebook gave you a virus, unlikely because it is one of the most popular sites in the world, just update your AV software (or have your bro do it)

It's not just ads that give viruses on Facebook. All of those "Click here to see what this girl did that pissed her boyfriend off!" posts are fake. You click them You get a virus. Usually a keylogger so that the virus can post from your Facebook account also. And invisible spots on the page that clickjack. You may think you're clicking in a blank white area but there's a hidden element that You can't see.
My advice. Use common sense when using Facebook. Don't click fake shÂÂÂiÂt, don't click links, don't click ads. |
