Hey, hashtags do not directly affect SEO.
They are used as a way for a user to quickly search on specific subjects. Let's say i am looking for material about Google on Twitter. Searching with the keyword "Google" will most likely return you, users that have the word "Google" inside their description or mentioned it on their tweets. But if you search the hashtag #Google it will return to you all the tweets that had this hashtag in them making your results highly relevant. The only way hashtags affect SEO , is indirectly if you manually try to include them in your posts , in order to categorize your post and make it easily accessible to people who search with hashtags. This is happening cause Search Engine Crawlers will match your content with the hashtag keyword cause you will be using it often. Ads |

I've never seen direct evidence of hashtags affecting rankings in any way.
At the same time, I think it would be stupid of search engines like Google not to use hashtags at all to understand the information within a particular social network. If I was Google, I would use hashtags as internal anchor texts at least to some extent. But this is just me supposing things. |

Yes hash tags are used in social media websites to highlight a particular word. So that when users click the word with hash tag, they can view the related search results and can make conversations related to those topics. Hash tags are used by most of the people in their tweets at twitter.
