i mean if you ask me if you have that many then you're trying to broadcast something to the world. i always smile to myself whenever i see people with like 500 friends. i always think, the more facebook friends, the more insecure the person is! when you know them in person it's always the social climber type. they are the type of person who judges you by how many facebook friends you have.

This is both ridiculous and dangerous if the person doesn't manage privacy settings. 500 people can see their picture, their status and contact information. Anyone can save all the data on this particular person and use it against him in the future.

most people that spend hours on facebook or myspace do not have a life
and have no real friends |

I dont think they are considered to be insecured. They just want to gain more friends and have more connection to people worldwide.

I think any REAL person knows that when they enter these kind of websites, they are not a good representative of that person. You could have Marilyn Manson out there who has tons of Facebook "Friends" but in real life.......I bet he has a lot of fans, but not necessarily "friends."
These kind of websites are just for fun, and not meant to be take as though they are a high quality friend. How hard is it to meet people when you don't have to look at their face to talk to them? |

I think it really depends on the person. I've had over 200 friends on facebook and myspace, but I know all of them and have them added because I want to keep in communication with them. There are people who can have 500 friends, know all of them without being insecure whatsoever. There are honestly people who know a lot of people and aren't trying to impress strangers online with their amount of friends
