Opening a case on ebay against a buyer?
Someone bought a item which they got in a bidding war for so I assumed he really wanted it, but he never paid or emailed me to pick it up. I emailed him twice with no reply so I had no choice to open a case but there is no reply? So what happens now if there is no reply to the case?

He's a deadbeat bidder. Report him to ebay.

Ebay leave a strike against him - you can do nothing. Relist the item (free after a case) and sell again or offer to underbidder.

What is the issue?
Simply re-post the product and report the bidder as failing to pay upon winning the bid.. There really isn't much else you can do as a seller... |

The buyer has 7 days to respond / pay after which you can close the case. You will then get ebay's fees back (until you close the case these will still be sitting on your account to be paid !) and can relist it for free. I would put a note on the listing saying that it is being relisted because of a non paying bidder.
You could also contact the bidder who came second to see if they still want it (called a second chance offer) if you would be happy with that price. They may say yes, but may not. |
