Is it wrong of Coca-Cola to use Santa to advertise?
Is it wrong of them to advertise using Santa as a "spokesman"?

Why would it be wrong? Santa is a fictional character in the public domain.
It isn't any different than every mall and large department which has a Santa Claus to bring in customers. Ads |

This is urban legent that Coca-Cola invent the modern image of Santa Claus. But it's wrong.
I didn't see reason why they shouldn't use it - it's public domain and isn't religious symbol. |

The modern Santa as we know is wholly the product of marketers.
Interesting recount of santas last 85 years. http://www.snopes.com/holidays/christmas...cacola.asp |

I think anyone can use santa as Santa Clause is a fictional character and has been used since ages by all children and holidays related products and services including malls all around the globe.
