Why are people so fake these days?
I can't post one little thing on Instagram without being unfollowed by some dumb*ass son of a b*tch. 75% of my Facebook friends are also fake as f*ck. I follow them on Twitter and they somehow automatically turn blind the second of because they continue to tweet. Before you tell me that people only follow you back if you seem interesting, I gotta say that most people moved from Facebook to Twitter. Twitter is the new Facebook. I was kinda popular on Facebook. I used to get a lot of likes. People just got fake.

Maybe you need a vacation from all this "social media" stuff. I put that in quotes because it is, in reality, just a monstrous commercial information gathering device used to put food on the table for Zukerborg and others.

MOST followers online are fake - they're not real friends. The distance between face to face contact and online contact is tremendous, it only encourages people to stay one step removed. Those aren't 'friends' any more than random acquaintances are 'friends'. They never have been. What I'm surprised at is that so few people seem to realize that.

You should be friends with real people, like outside. Don't worry about people you don't know on social media.
