WHAT IS THE BEST TO TRANSCRIBE AN AUDIO FILE?
I am about to start transcribing audio files for moneyfrom SpeechInk via Amazon Mechanical Turk which is like an online workplace. Anyway, they have two types of audio transcribing files: verbatim which is typing everything you hear word by word with correct punctuation regardless of grammar and then theres non verbatim where you must clean up the grammar and punctuation so the typed transcription looks professional. Can anybody give.me.any tips because the files can be pretty long up to an hour and a.half sometimes longer. So..can anyone lend me some helpful info

Personally, I'd buy a copy of Dragon Dictate and let it do the heavy lifting.

It depends, if you can get out of the MT the audio. If yes, you can try to use some more intelligent transcription software like:
http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/index.html or http://trans.sourceforge.net/en/presentation.php Or you can try to use some automatic speech recognition SW: * desktop application like Nuance's Dragon or * web based service like http://spokendata.com/index.php |
