How much is Facebook really worth?
I just wanted to know how somebody can possibly say that Facebook is worth around 50 billion dollars. How does the market value something as intangible and fictitious as Facebook? It seems to me that they - read Times Magazine - are all just telling a shower of shite. And that Facebook will grow old and become boring and can easily be replaced with a new, young, hot, fun website. Or is there some logic used in valuing a company like this?

Facebook's "value" is overly inflated. It has a lot of value because it is such a popular website, but no one would ever pay that much for it.

facebook has about 550 million members, outta 6 billion ppl thats around 11% of the worlds population on a single website. say target or walmart bought facebook, then theyd have free advertising throughout every continent, theyd have 550 mil ppl recognising there products or posts, think about it.
