If I edit an official screenshot of a game, make it my FB cover, and give credit, is it illegal?
I was on the official "Sonic the Hedgehog" FaceBook page, and I found this picture, of the upcoming title "Sonic & ALL-STARS RACING":
http://puu.sh/17TBR I really liked it, so I decided to run it through a few online photo editors, and this was the final result: http://puu.sh/17TE9 Now, I want to put the edited photo as my FB cover, and plan to give credit (Noting where the original photo came from, etc.) Is it illegal for me to do that? yes, it's illegal. All derivative works are covered by the copyrights and intellectual properties (trade names) [except those used for artistic and criticism purposes]
and they'd probably allow it anyway. Ads |
