Network trouble internet connection?
ok so i am trying to set up a network with the internet between to home computers. I have connected the cross over cable and the two computers shared files are connnected after i ran the wizard but i do not have an internet connection on the 2nd computer. Any information in detail would be most helpful as im am not every computer liteate.

You need to run Internet Connection Sharing. The way it should physically be setup is as follows.
Standard CAt5 cable from modem to MAIN computer. Crossover cable from main computer to other computer. That's it. Run the setup wizard and it should work. If it doesn't, the cable might not be working properly, or something else. Send me an e-mail if it still doesn't work and we can go step by step on how to do it. Ads |

Well you may need to to more a little setting up for the 2nd computer. I'm not sure about what operating system that you're using. So you should contact Microsoft Support for more information.

You could just use a ethernet switch.
http://www.comtradcables.com/UNICOM-C343.aspx Plug in the cable from the modem into the switch and then have two more ethernet cables coming out and going into the separate computers. |
