Does anyone know how this part of Facebook works?
You know when you type a name into the top little search bar on facebook? as you start typing it brings up different friends whose names start with the letters you are currently putting into it. The names it brings up, are these the names of people you have searched recently or the most frequently or are these the names of people who are also looking at your profile? ive heard the latter is the case but i dont know if its true. Thanks!!

It works real time and bring out related words from similar, popular searches.

If it's people you're not friends with, It's ordered by how many mutual friends you have and it will always bring up people your friends with first before people you're not friends with and that's normally done in alphabetical order I think, that's all I know :L

Those are only the names of people from your friends list or people you've searched for recently. Had nothing to do with others searching for you.

It can be different, if it is not your friends on facebook its the most mutual friends you have with that person that you are looking for, and it can also be if you have looked that person up alot even though you are not friends ( I know). If you are friends, then what comes up, is what matches what you are writing.

When you type and the search box shows the results including the people you have searched before (who my be not in your friend list) and also shows your friends, like pages etc.
So both of these is shown in the results. |
