How do you block someone from Facebook chat but not from messages?
If not the above question, if someone knows how to remove someone from the "top friends" on chat that show up on the left side of the screen, I would accept an answer for that as well!

messages and chat are the same thing, so you cant

but you can make yourself appear always offline to the person in your chat options
