Someone requested me on facebook. I look at their profile and it showed their security clearance was with the dod and "top secret". Why would this person send me a friend request with no mutual friends?

Maybe someone who clicked friend on you by mistake (I've done that, it's really easy to do on Facebook) or it could be some kind of virus trying to gather data on you. Don't accept it either way.

If they're putting their clearance level on FB, then they're either a poser or a complete tool. You should ignore them.

SCAM!!! The person is NOT in a Computer/Networking Specialist, does NOT have Top Secret Clearance, is NOT in the military and is NOT in Afghanistan. These are all fake profiles that have been created by scammers in Nigeria or Sierra Leone or Ghana who will try to become friends with different people and then get money out of them. Usually by telling them that they have to apply for their leave, they are getting out and need payment for it, don't have access to their bank accounts, a child is in an accident or something along those lines.
