go to direct messages and click on the send message to button but they have to be following you

theres an option on the right side of their page usually
or you can do the @nerolism or @whoever thingy in your own tweets |

They have to be following you though. |

Depends how you go about doing it:
On twitter.com: (1)go to the person you want to direct message and on the side bar it will say "direct message @username." Click that and type away. or (2) Browse to the Twitter direct messages inbox, or click the "Direct Messages" link in the right sidebar. Select the intended recipient's username from the drop-down menu. Type away. Text Message: start a text and send it to Twitter (404-40) and type in "d USERNAME" and then the message. It will be sent to the username. |
