what does the recently contacted list on facebook mean?

Like does it include people you've called and texted or just people you've talked to on facebook. Because i logged onto my boyfriends account today and there was a girl under his recently contacted list that I told him not to talk to. And I went back through the fb messages and they were all old ones ie already read. He says he hasn't texted her since I told him not to buuut I have the feeling hes lying.

Go to facebook click on masseges, on the top you will see "+New Masseges" next to it you will see a magnifiying glass click on it and go to "Archived Masseges" and there you will see who ever he contacted with time and date on fb but its kind of hard couse it can be deleted where you should check is hiss account where hes signing into...
