Ad agency internship vs internal marketing internship in terms of experience?
I am a first year university student and I have two job offers for the summer. Company A is a planning internship with a well known ad agency, Company B is a social media internship with a financial services company. I want to work in an agency setting in the future so I believe my best bet is A, but if anyone has ever been in this position or has ever hired someone for a job with an ad agency, which would you take?

Since you want a "real" ad agency job down the line, your best move is to intern with one now.
Agencies rarely want to bother hiring someone who has never worked in an agency before. They typically try to choose someone who already know the ropes, pace, and terminology. Get in there and get the important head-start your resume will need in order to complete once you graduate. Ads |
