Sounds like she may be a bit insecure. I don't think you are at fault, but you need to set boundaries RIGHT NOW. Tell her that she is entitled to her perception, but that it is false. Tell her you are not cheating, and that you feel that hugging another person, who happens to be a girl, is NOT cheating. Do not apologize for what you have done, just tell her that you are sorry she was hurt by what she thought you were doing. Therefore, you are not saying you are wrong (because you're not), you're saying you don't want her to feel hurt because it makes you sad. And from this point on set the boundary that hugging does not equal cheating. You have the right to go out with friends and hug others!
