Do you have a lawyer? If so make an emergency phone call into him/her. You only have only a couple of more hours to make contact before the weekend so do it asap. If you don't have one, call a family law lawyer and ask for a free initial consultation. Find out what the laws are in your state and how you should proceed. I wouldn't get the police or CPS involved at this time because it is a holiday weekend and no one in the courts will be available. You don't want the kids to be in an emergency shelter or foster care until you figure out what you are going to do. Forget about the child support right now. It is only money. The kids are more important.
Did the custodial parent give you a means to contact them in case of a medical emergency? Any paperwork? If they get hurt or sick, you may need a judge's ok to treat. Just warning you. School- take them to the school they regularly go to until you get answers from the lawyer and court. |
