The law says they have a right to monitor everything you do at work, as long as they follow certain rules (such as telling you they monitor email at work):
http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs7-work.htm Facebook doesn't have a lot of "privacy" anymore, as this time line shows http://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2010/04/facebook-timeline Your boss or company can use software that "watches" you on Facebook: http://www.infoworld.com/d/applications/...tivity-664 And Twitter: http://www.infoworld.com/d/the-industry-...e-here-728 You might consider using this to check your privacy settings - it still can't prevent anything Facebook decides on the spur of the moment to make public, but it's better than nothing: http://www.reclaimprivacy.org/ Ain't the Internet fun??? EDIT: If you're personal email is on, say Yahoo mail, and you read it at work - they can monitor you. If you get it from home using a company-provided laptop, they can monitor you. If you use your OWN computer at home (or coffee shop, or bar, or library, etc), they can't monitor you. Ads |
