It's ok...and your question is a valid one.
When child support is ordered, the court will allow the payments to go either directly to the mother or the court will take the payments and then pay the mother (this is preferable, so she can never claim she wasn't paid). If the mother files for welfare, then the state has to be reimbursed, so they didn't really sue him per se, they are just requesting that the payments go to the state since the taxpayers are supplementing her and the child's care...which is only fair. So,. the mother gets paid in welfare benefits....that is how she gets her money. Ads |
