The State will keep the majority of the money.

The whole CS system was designed to keep them from paying for kids. They want to keep your money and not give you any benefits.

A word of caution, they will try to raise his support too. NY is horrible for this and will try to do it without even telling you worse yet.

I'd consider moving next door to PA. Support is unconstitutional past 18 and they never make you pay for college.
