How to prevent seeing someone on facebook?

If you have friends that are friends with him, then it will automatically suggest it to you. One thing you can do is block his profile page, meaning .. Go to his profile page, and at the bottom left you will see something like Report/Block This Person, and just check the Block PERSON box, and you're all set, you won't see his profile again, it will look like it disappeared Smile
