How and how much do you use Facebook? Do you feel that this has changed how you communicate?

I generally like Facebook. I don't use it as much as I used to, but I do spend about half an hour a day there checking up on those games that still amuse me.
What I don't like about Facebook is the annoying way those same games make your friends post lame "click here to get a gift" posts on my wall. Especially since that triggers the alert email to my account. *sigh* But that's a minor annoyance which is weighed out by the fact that it's suddenly a lot easier for me to have at least some of sort of grasp of what's going on in my family. I live far away from any relatives and I'm not the type to grab the phone and call people, so I rarely had any idea how they were doing before joining Facebook. Now I can just read their status updates and be up to date with how they're doing. Yay for technology. (And yes, I do know that it sounds sad. But no one in my family calls unless there has been an emergency of some kind. We are simply not people who chat over the phone for hours on end.) And I am an 23-year old female. Ads |
