Don't ever second guess your gut feeling, those are your instincts. When you spoke of him, you said "he got weird", "even more obbsessed", "really fed up", "blocked him"...so why do you question yourself now? I agree with the other comments. Think! When you decided it was over, let it end. Don't worry about a measely little party at his house. Sounds like manipulation for sure. Of course you felt left out, because you were! Yes, it was right to quit talking to him. Hopefully you let him down gently. Some people need to actually hear it from the horses mouth that it's over. You can be nice at first, but then be firm.
