Children should receive child support for as long as the supporting spouse agreed to pay it in the financial divorce decree. Normally support stops at 18 or when the child finishes high school. Other spouses agree to pay child support as long as the child remains in school, which is concluded upon graduation of college. I think that adults (23/22) who receive child support should be aware that they are receiving it Since it normally is not done, I would think they should know or have this information, since I'm sure they would want to thank their father. As for who receives it...the mother should receive it. It is meant to pay for shelter, food, school, etc.
