What does it mean to subscribe to a channel or video on utube?

No, it just means that if you subscribe to someone, all of their recent/brand new vids, will appear on the front page of your channel. You wont get an email, but it will be on your front page. It's kind of like following someone on twitter, you'll just see their newest vids and support them! And its totally free as wellSmile Hope i helped!
