Definitely message her. I wish facebook had been around when my son died at 17. He would have had so many facebook friends, and I would have loved hearing from all of them. There were so many friends at his funeral they wouldn't all fit in the building, and I couldn't greet all of them. Even almost 11 years later, I'd love to hear from them.
