How can I gain more followers on twitter?

There are several ways to build a twitter following, depending on your goals. It can be anything from just socializing with friends to promoting yourself and/or your products and countless other things. Whatever your goal, here are a few ideas that might help.

1. Tell your friends about your new twitter account. Do this by word of mouth or, if you are on other social networking sites or messenger clients, send messages to them that way.
2. Include your twitter ID in profiles and signatures on emails, forum posts, and social networking sites.
4. Search on twitter for people you are interested in following and follow them. Some will follow back and some won't, but it'll help.
5. Strike up conversations with others in the twittersphere. If they see you mentioning them, they'll reply back and hopefully lead to a follow.
6. If you have a website, include a link to your twitter account there as many sites do.
7. If you're really desperate for urgent followers, you can buy them. I'll include one such site that sells followers in my resource box.

I hope this helps you on your way to more followers. Oh yeah, forgot one more. I forget the name of the site, but there is a website, or maybe more, where you can find people with similar interests to you and follow them. Maybe putting a profile up on there would be good. I think it was called Twiend or something. I've seen it, but not used it.
