She might be lying. If it's protected, that means that you have to individually accept accounts that want to follow you, so just don't allow her (or any of her other accounts) to follow you. If she said she can read them, try tweeting something unique, or something about her, and ask her in person if she got the message. She might also be accessing it through a friend's account.
