What do you think about a 10 year old having a MySpace page?

I think that a myspace page for anyone that age is just asking for trouble, even if it is set to private. who knows what information she is giving out over the internet even if it is given unintentionally.

As for her school work, it sounds like her mother needs to stop being her friend and start being a parent. She needs to schedule a meeting with her teacher(s) and make up a plan to help her bring her grades up. After that is set she needs to enforce it even if it means unplugging the computer and being the bad guy

It sounds like you need to get her father involved in this since you mentioning something by yourself to her mother things might get a little sticky. He needs to be straightforward, but not accusatory.
