Would you like your 11 year old daughter on FaceBook?

If I did they would not be putting their real picture on there until they reached fourteen, and their profiles would be set to private and i would monitor their contact with friends. This would protect them from any potential internet creeps.
But I'm not sure, I think I'm going to encourage my children to network themselves physically instead of relying on so much technology. It makes them more outgoing and independant...but that's just me. I think that a lot of the social sites are too overrated. It creates a barrier between people. But it can be used as good, as it allows friends to keep in touch with one another and to spread news or be creative.
