This is quite a controversial topic actually.
I personally feel that every child should be entitled to know who his/her biological parent is, mainly for medical purposes. For example, if you've inherited some strange disease from your dad, what are the chances of you knowing it? Besides, there are some mental and emotional traits that are shared by the child and the biological parent. I think you should ask your parents first. I mean, they should've known by now that you feel different and they shouldn't be hiding the secret any longer. But don't push it too much. Assure them that you'll always be with them, BUT you're curious to meet the other half of you at least once. |
