To direct a message at someone on Twitter, you've got two options:
1. Direct Message This a private message you send that will appear in the targeted user's inbox, and, notably, won't be published to any timeline. 2. Use @ In your Tweet, include the at symbol directly before the targeted user's name (e.g., @username). This message will be added to your timeline. If the targeted user is following you, then your Tweet with appear in his or her timeline as well. If he or she isn't following you, then it only will be added to the private replies list each user can access from the homepage on the right-hand menu. Hope this helps to make things clearer for you! Here's a blog post I wrote about using Twitter, including how to include shortened links in your Tweets: http://www.werdofbert.com/2009/08/twitte...geted.html If you have any more Twitter-related questions, leave me a comment on my blog and I'll get back to you--or send me a Tweet @bertwerd! |
