Try going to Privacy Settings under My Account

Make sure people can't search for you and people can't see your friends list.

PS:Not that I care a whole lot, but what's wrong with your parents seeing what you're doing? Are you trying to hide something? Keep in mind you still live under their roof and still eat their food, they have certain rights to what you do....
