I'm 19 and in a similar situation: tinnitus, iPod on full for the last 6-7 months, but also massive jaw-popping sounds and a slew of other TMJ issues.

I don't think your question is answerable here on Yahoo Answers, you should get the TMJ fixed and see if the tinnitus goes away.

That'll tell you with some reasonable degree of certainty if it was the TMJ or not.
