Could be anything, maybe they're jealous of you. I would need more information on how close they are to you to really know what's going on with them though.

Sorry to hear about your mother, I hope she gets better; however, do not use this as a way to get your friends to talk to you, EVER. Feel free to email me if you need anymore help on the matter.
