because she is 16, thus she is going thru this phase of her life where she wants attention more than anything (hence the painting part)

you have to know you are incompatible (she is underaged!) and her thinking is not mature yet. you need to rethink of this relatiobnship instead of trying to change her into a different person when she is just at the stage of discoveing herself.
