To my understanding, it is legal to browse through any person's online information if they themselves have allowed it to be public.
For example, if an employer sees through a person's Facebook that they are completely not the kind of person they want to hire, it is fine. They are looking at public information, not private, so there is no invasion of privacy. This is assuming that the person HAS allowed that info to be public. Any hacking to view private information, or information set to be unseen, is incorrect and could be serious crime. |
