start by finding your father's name on your birth certificate (assuming you haven't already got it) from that together with your mother's name, you can order a copy of his marriage certificate which will give his place of marriage, address, occupation and father's name and occupation.
From that, aussuming it isn't a really common name you should be able to find HIS marriage certificate and father's name. Once you get the marriage certificates you can check for other births with the same surname and mother's maiden name. Once you get back to 1911 you can view the census to find families or look on a site such as Ancestry to see if anyone else had done the work already. Ads |
