Women are afraid of getting burned and cheated on. That is the whole/only reason they want the password.

Girlfriends should not have boyfriends passwords, I agree. Once you get engaged, she should be given the opportunity to look when SHE wants to. You should be more than willing to leave your account open for her to look IF you have nothing to hide.

Once you are married, the accounts become JOINT.

People who have nothing to hide, hide nothing. If you can't trust her knowing who you truly are, then you have a serious commitment problem and aren't worthy for her trust.

There are much more important things to worry about than passwords.
