What does this # symbol mean on facebook??? I always see it on ppls status.?

Technically it's for twitter. It's a hashtag where you can sum everything you are tweeting about into one subject or you can tweet about somethings. For example say I was tweeting about the 2012 grammy awards... you could write something about it & at the end of your tweet write #2012grammyawards. & you can look up that hashtag & see what people are tweeting about. I have a twitter & facebook & it always irritates me when I see people using it on facebook lol.
