Keep abreast of the news because the flooding continues to creep slowly deeper into Bangkok. Don Mueang airport is flooded and in ruins now even though government assured everyone that wouldn't happen. They even located their flood relief center there - now even they have evacuated. They assure that Suvarnabhumi won't flood but it has been disclosed that the airlines have established plans to evacuate their planes to other countries.
If you do come you should plan to catch a domestic flight to the north or south and don't go into Bangkok as disruptions to transportation continue to grow resulting in difficulty with train and bus routes. There are also shortages of many products appearing due to disruption of distribution. Stay up to the minute by tracking hashtag #ThaiFloodEng on Twitter |
