How come youtube and facebook doesnt work in china?

China controls their ISPs, and they are known to block social networking sites and access to sites across the world.
Its their policy of controlling media the citizens can read. Taiwan is a little more outgoing than china.

The chinese that I know - they use proxies to bypass government controls
